Normandy is the ideal area for all cycling lovers and you will appreciate at your own pace the beauty of the green and lush landscape as well as the richness of the architectural heritage. You will enjoy guided visits with a local leader who is passionate about regional history and nature. The programs suggested thereafter are given as examples and will be modified according to your interests, your aptitude and the number of participants. If you need to be driven to the departure point, the group will be limited to four people. The tour rates depend on the pick up location, the duration and the need of a vehicle. Following the visit of Bayeux, you will be delighted by the beauty of the countryside and the richness of the local architecture. You will discover the numerous manors and prestigious chateaux scattered in picturesque villages. You will also admire the traditional parish churches of Romanesque style, witness of the past prosperity. The Bessin area is full of surprises and cycling is indeed the best way to experience it. Visit of Bayeux :Charming little medieval town miraculously spared during WWII, Bayeux sums up thoroughly the rich architecture of the area. The majestic Cathedral Notre-Dame stands in the heart of the town and reminds of the influence of the Duke of Normandy through his half-brother, Odo of Conteville, bishop of Bayeux in the 11th Century. The famous Tapestry, which used to be hung around the nave of the church, depicts the epic adventure of William the Conqueror.

On this tour, you will discover how 16500 soldiers of the American 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions were dropped into Normandy in the dead of night to help to insure the success of the seaborne assault on Utah Beach. You will visit the places where the main actions undertaken by these men unfolded in the pre-dawn hours of D-Day. Most notably, you will follow the route taken by Lt. Richard Winters as he led Easy Company of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment as shown in episodes 2 and 3 of the television series of "Band of Brothers”.
